Reverend John Graham Canham

It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you of the passing away of Reverend John Graham Canham who sadly passed away on 28th July 2019 (former vicar of Minera and Coedpoeth), peacefully at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Graham was Chaplain Choral of Chester Cathedral and a teacher at the Choir School before moving on to Rossall School. Fondly remembered by pupils of the Choir School, he was a strong supporter of the Choristers’ Association. Pictured above is Graham, alongside the late Rev. Dennis Kelly and his son Julian Kelly.

A former pupil of Rossall posted this tribute to him on FuneralGuide which sums up what most people felt when they came into contact with him.

Graham became Dragon Crescent Housemaster in 1983 and I had the pleasure of knowing him as House Captain in 1985. From all in my year including …… and all ‘housemates’ in Dragon Crescent during my tenure … he was a dutiful, true and kind gentleman who had everyone’s best interests at heart. On behalf of everyone in DC may I share our sadness at this time but remember with fondness the time we spent at school under his ‘watch’.
Rest in peace Graham … you did an EXCELLENT job my friend!
