Baptism Information

Holy Baptism is the start of our Christian lives, here we are Baptised into Christ and are given a new beginning. There is no age limit on Holy Baptism. Whilst it is usual for Baptism to take place in the first years after birth we do conduct adult baptisms at both Churches and if you are an adult seeking Baptism you should discuss this with the Rector.

Holy Baptism takes place at The Parish Church of St John either during the Principal Eucharist on a Sunday or immediately afterwards (12.noon). If you live in the Parish or have a connection with  St John’s please ask the Parish Office to send you a Baptism application Form. There is no fee for a Baptism at our Churches. If you live outside the Parish or have no connection to either Church, yet still wish to have a Baptism at St John’s this is something that you will need to discuss with the Rector.

Before a Baptism takes place the Rector will arrange a meeting to discuss what Baptism means and the details of the Service.
